K asked me last year what I’d like as a present, and I pointed at a Fnirsi HS-02A soldering iron and a GAN USB-C power supply for it.

Several months later, I’ve got around to actually trying it. Room temperature to 350 degrees C in under 10 seconds (according to the screen; I don’t have anything capable of checking that it’s at that temperature). Easy to swap cartridges to change the tip. A neat carry case that zips up and can hold the iron and several tips. A barrel to USB-C adapter, compatible with 12V power, so taking it to the boat is feasible. A nice USB-C power cable that’s nice and flexible, and covered in silicone to reduce “oops, I burnt it” accidents.

Really happy with it 🙂
